Cynic

HeIsAlive's mic quality made it hard to listen to. The style seemed a bit recylced. The vocabulary was impressive, but without the delivery they loose there power.
Cynic killed it.
Wordplay>Dictionary.

o Wow

HOLY MOZART! I'm amazed at how much talent is going into these battles. Premier match here.

Gasmasq: Wordplay, Lyricism, flow complimented the beat, NG Relevant references, creative attacks : Name dropping>publicist, mainstream, lines from a fish tank, battle rap confused with videogames, etc...
-after 8 bars in rap, the instrumentals drown out the vocs, a few of the lines take a few listens to get.
-the ending of the first verse set up anticipation for Gasmasq's 2n verse; I thought it was a bit too vague/general.

Icon: Delivery, Global revelant references, flow rolled with the beat. definately threw more hits: appearance (Stitch? haha), Hazardous Materials, general violent hits)
-random/unconnected references
-The autistic impersonation (it was performed well, but come on, have a little deceny)
-too many "You're ugly!" disses/shallow material.

This one's a real close battle; Gasmasq brought the complex rhymes and lyrical lethality while Icon brought the aggressiveness and explicit literature. I'd give this a tie, but for the sake of the battle I'd give it to Gasmasq for his 2nd verse; the fast flow, clever flips and intregrated-well developed hits won it. Shot for shot, I think Icon threw more hits, but at times some of them seemed unrelated and thrown in for the sake of rhyming, rather than content. Icon threw the rapid jabs,Gasmasq connected with uppercuts.

Great work to both competitors. Battle was epic.

My head bobbing to the melody!

I like the sound you got here; slick flow, expanded vocabulary, clever lyrics(decent use of similes: goldfish to a pike!) and great tone. Def props to Sirhc7000.

As for the writing issue, here's what I would suggest: After you get 1 verse write up a hook/chorus that focalizes the general theme you're going for. Once you got that narrowed down, it might make the second verse come to you easier. Another idea is that you get collabin with other rappers, see how they interpret the theme. Sometime a different perspective adds dimension and more depth.
For me, I find that I usually gotta just write nonstop till i got the track "done". Just keep writing bro.

Great WIP here; definately improved a lot since Dusted! Keep em knockin!

Nimbus

Pigpen1-Lol at the intro, fam. Im gonna give Pig credit for openly admitting to suckin dick; unique defensive maneuver, i guess. A few of the words were a bit mumbled and hard to catch without replaying the verse. I don't get the groundhog day reference.
Nimbus1- Flow is real tight. Lol at Charlie Brown, George Michael and Little Piggy. Joey did the swine flu line in round 1. Nice flip on the bitch in prison. The pig Latin bars were slick and creative.
Pigpen2- Sick response. "You want to be my dad, cause yours did a poor job" "Big bad wolf, trying to blow me".
Nimbus2-" Pop a pain pill" is overused, but so is "epic fail". I didnt get the "One time at band camp..." line till I checked out out Pig's ng post. I was mostly unimpressed by Nimbus's 2nd verse; the flips seemed kinda weak;"I dont have an Iphone I have an Android..." "I already said antibiotic". Charlie Sheen... really?

I'd give this one to Nimbus; his flow, wordplay and use of references (which seemed to be the theme of this battle) dominated. Glad to see Nimbus actually did some research this round (not just disses on titles/names).

Props to Pigpen. I thought this was going to be a definite victory, but Pigpen put up a decent fight.

Great battle gentlemen!

Glitch

Qsik1- A few phrases were difficult to understand. A few disses about Glitch's appearance (I guessing based on Glitch's profile pic). Flow was there, but it felt a bit rushed.
Glitch1-Nice response, like the Eminem/Many Men reference. Calm/relaxed delivery=not really stressed about this battle; natural.
Qsik2-Impersonation was lol; but a waste of bars. A lot of artist references in this verse. Uh... If he would've pronounced" Mao" like "Mow" (rather than mayo) it would've rhymed with "round", but alas it twas a fail. A for effot though.
Glitch2- "you only did a 2nd verse cause I raised ya from the dead, to have a lil fun and murder you again". Flow was fairly decent, the breath control could use a little more practice. Liked the cleverness.

Glitch had better hits (understandible and direct). Glitch's flow was better (smooth and it was more enjoyable to listen to, my preference). I'd give Qsik props for delivery ( sounded like he had more energy) too bad his quality is shit.

I think Glitch should go to the next round.

Best battle of round 1, my opinion.

Props on 16s and 8s. Great showcase of talent.

Gasmasq's 16 is decent, lyrics were good "you gonna battle with Gasmasq in a backpack"lol, flow was good;internal rhyme schemes were great. I thought the tone sounded a bit off; mic pressence wasn't there.

Wyze's 16; I like the flips with "Taliban" and the mic droppin line. A lot of personal shots. The flow was alright. A few of the lines felt forced.

Gasmasq's 8 had a lot better presense then the first. Did the "He's biting my style" in a battle in last years competition, I didnt think it was appropiate in this situation; liked the rabbie shot line, though. No direct responses to the shots from Wyze's 16. I liked the autographed album line.

Wyze's 8 responds nicely to the "biting" remark. The drug shots were a bit forced, but they were excuted pretty good "snort the paint at the place he inhabits" . Pickle? really.

I'd say Gasmasq had better flow,Wyze had the attack.

Since Wyze actaully bought Gasmasq's CD, I'm gonna give this one to Wyze.

Epic battle gentlemen, great job to both of ya. respect.

I like your criteria for voting

1:52-1:55<---- HAHAAH!

If Waus spit his second in Dutch I woulda given him the win for shits, too bad he's rapping in a second language. This was a murder. Grimcredible wins.

Murdaa responds:

Word.

Keys

I really like how Joey started this one off, but the 8 bars of the same rhyme didnt work to well. Pigpen responded nicely, "The only keys you need are control plus Z" undo undo, haha! Joey's second brings out the hits. Pig's second is ok... I thought the last two bars were the best.

JoeyKeys, had the flow, energy and hits, while Pigpen had the cleverness. I'd give this one to Joey though. Pigpen may be pressing alt+f4.

Good battle

PiGPEN responds:

Nah, i'm F5'ing B.

Heisnotalive.

HeIsAlvie drops those complex rhyme schemes but the flow sounds a bit held back. Illmortal gets the nod for flow and direct lyrics, but some phrases were mumbled/rushed.
Sick battle here. Props HeisAlive and Immortal

HeIsAlive responds:

Im still learning the ropes lol.
Only been doing this for 6 months man.

To be honest, im not diggin the "Heisnotalive" comment...

Thanks for the review.

Its what I do for fun.
